To give you some context...

I was in a band between 1994-96 called Ism Ism It. Our original drummer Andy Khachaturian went on to become System of a Down's first drummer before they replaced him with John Dolmayan.

We played the Whiskey once and the Roxy twice (Sunset Strip in Hollywood), then we broke up and I got married (no regrets)!

I did not pick up a guitar for 16 years after that until I resumed playing in Jan. 2012.

Recording began on this project in March 2014. It took me 2-1/2 years to complete and is my most significant artistic achievement to date.

My album Living Inside My Head relies heavily on melody, rich with vocal harmonies and lots of layered guitars. My obsession is to write simple, memorable songs. But good simple! I feel breaking new musical ground isn't always going to give you that crisp melody that you can sing through-out the day.

I have a fondness for female singers like Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, Julieta Venegas, Lorde, Lana Del Rey and more...so it’s fitting that I found women to sing on my songs as well. I prefer staying behind the scenes.

All guitars and bass: Michael Barian

Produced & mixed: Michael Barian

One song features guest bass player (Martin Delahaye) and two songs features guest keyboard player (Charlie G of Grammy Award Winning Jars of Clay).
